FAQs: Bridges and Same-Day Crowns

How can we help you?

At Wellington Dental, we want to inspire you to a healthier smile by helping you understand the ways in which excellent oral health can benefit your life. Part of this process includes explaining things in detail and answering all your questions, no matter how small.

There's a lot to know about your dental care and we don’t expect you to be an expert, so please don’t ever feel embarrassed about asking a question. If it matters to you, it matters to us!

We have shared a few of the questions we hear most often from our patients, but your smile is unique so you probably have some of your own. If you don't see your question here, please don't hesitate to call our office or fill out our convenient online contact form.

Bridges and Same-Day Crowns

Your teeth withstand a lot of wear and tear over the years, and dental enamel is strong – in fact, it’s the hardest substance in the human body – but it is not indestructible.

A dental crown is needed to restore function and appearance when teeth start to break down. You may have a tooth that has already been filled multiple times and now requires a crown for support and protection. Teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism) is a significant factor in the wearing and erosion of your teeth and can cause a lot of damage before you realize it. Another case where we would recommend a crown is after root canal treatment for added strength and protection.

At Wellington Dental, we design all-porcelain esthetic dental crowns that are customized to blend beautifully with your smile. We can create crowns using the traditional method that requires two to three visits, or we can recommend state-of-the-art same-day crowns if you want to just get your crown placed and get on with your life.

Dental crowns made using porcelain or ceramic look natural and enhance your appearance while also protecting your oral health. If you have a damaged tooth and suspect you might need a crown, please call our office to arrange a consultation with one of our doctors.
